Mai Medaka describes early blue-purple body expression and fine multicolored lame; later selective breeding increased lame density and color.
No validated numerical grade thresholds or precise inheritance probabilities were located. Compare multiple high-resolution top-view and side-view photos of directly traceable parent fish under repeatable lighting before assigning quality grades.

Mai Medaka (舞めだか) identifies Oni Lame as an original line created in 2017. A January 2025 first-party post describes eight years of selection, a higher-density prototype branch and the newer derivative Forged.

The older Aquaphoria post claims Black Lame Miyuki x Aurora Black. That exact parent formula was NOT verified from the breeder's posts reviewed this pass.
A reported cross is not a DNA genotype; neither dominant/recessive behavior nor a guaranteed breeding ratio should be inferred without controlled crosses. Use separate pedigree entries for subtype/selection changes.
